PIPES

哌嗪-1,4-二乙磺酸

CAS 5625-37-6 CTH10080

PIPES (piperazine-N,N'-bis(2-ethanesulfonic acid)) is a Good's zwitterionic buffer with a pKa of about 6.8 at 25 °C and a useful buffering range of roughly pH 6.1–7.5. The free acid dissolves poorly in water and requires base; it is used in cytoskeleton and microtubule studies, electron microscopy fixatives and protein crystallization.
