ELISA / IVD raw materials

Blocking, washing and color, each with a CAS.

For an ELISA formulation, Catch-Chem can line up BSA for blocking, Tween 20 for the wash, PBS for dilution and washing, and TMB as the HRP substrate. Each is quoted by CAS and grade.

Items on this chain

  • BSA: New Zealand, Australia or standard grade. Ask separately for IgG-free or protease-free.
  • Tween 20, USP: for PBST or TBST.
  • PBS / DPBS: ask the concentration and whether calcium and magnesium are present.
  • TMB: the HRP substrate raw material.
  • Also: ABTS solution and PNPP. Casein is under blocking.

Origin grades: how BSA grades are split. IVD scope: which IVD raw materials can be inquired.

Questions on this application

Which BSA grade for blocking?

Standard grade suits routine ELISA and WB. Ask for IgG-free or protease-free when background is critical.

Which wavelength is used for TMB?

After an acid stop, 450 nm is the usual reading. The laboratory method decides.
