MOPS sodium salt is the sodium salt of the buffer MOPS. It is highly water-soluble and basic, and can be blended with the free acid to prepare buffers in the pH 6.5–7.9 range quickly with little or no strong base titration. It is used in denaturing RNA electrophoresis (MOPS buffer), cell culture and protein research.
